2008/'09
This year's students created excellent activities encompassing all three strands of the Modern Language Primary Curriculum : Communicative Competence, Language Awareness and Cultural Awareness. The use of active learning methodologies (flashcards, games, songs) was prevalent in all projects - a guaranteed hit with younger learners! Authentic materials and photos of famous German people and places were used in many classes and this ensured that the German culture was brought to life - wunderbar!
The winning school for this year's project 2008/'09 is St. Mary's Secondary School in Newport, Co. Limerick who linked with many primary schools in their area. Congratulations to all schools involved! The winning individual entry went to Lorraine Morrissey from Our Lady's Secondary School, Templemore, Co. Tipperary.Congratulations to Lorraine!
