Galway Library
Galway City Library recently launched a new section in their Children’s Library devoted to a collection of books in French, Spanish, German and Italian.
The launch took place in Galway City Library on Friday September 25th when the new section was officially launched by the Mayor of Galway, Mr Declan Mc Donnell.
It is most appropriate that the launch was held on this day as the European Day of Languages is also celebrated annually on September 26th.
The Mayoral launch of the new Modern Language section of the Children’s Library was attended by children from Scoil an Linbh Íosa and St. Nicholas’ NS, the Claddagh who are learning Spanish and French as part of the MLPSI.
The children performed songs and raps and participated in language games and quizzes to showcase their knowledge and obvious enjoyment of language learning.
They were treated to a variety of French and Spanish cuisine kindly provided by Biquets Restaurant and Wine Bar and Cava Spanish Restaurant and Tapas Bar.
