Planning, record keeping and assessment are essential components of a successful implementation of the Modern Language curriculum. Schemes of works are required for the Modern Language as they are for all other subject areas. Besides the integration of stands and strand units, schemes of work should include cross-curricular links. The Modern Language schemes of work prepared by the language teacher are useful tools for collaboration with class teachers. They also serve as a basis for record keeping and assessment.
Different styles of planning templates are available to MLPSI teachers. Teachers are free to choose the templates which best suit them. They can also adapt the format of the templates to suit their own style providing they retain the necessary components. Some sample templates are included here for download in both PDF and Word formats:
