Primary Language Teachers Network
Regional Primary Language Network groups were set up last year in Education Centres all over Ireland. Primary language teachers now meet on a regular basis to share ideas and resources and groups also host guest speakers. Below you will find information about each specific group's meeting dates and venues and their plans for the upcoming year. Please contact your Regional Project leader if you wish to join the Network group or if you have any suggestions or ideas.
Details of the meetings to be held next term will be posted here in December. If you would like to assist in the organisation of your local network group, please contact your Regional Project Leader.

Galway
Kildare
The Kildare Primary Languages Network group will meet again on Monday evening, January 18th, 2010 at 7pm. All teachers are welcome to attend. This group has already met in October and in November. Teachers have shared the many modern language resources which were purchased by the group last year. At the last meeting teachers worked together to produce some excellent photostories about Christmas.
Limerick
The Limerick Network group will meet again in the New Year of 2010.
Tralee
The Kerry group is holding a Video Editing Workshop on Feb. 6th at 10am. Please contact Aoife Winston, Regional Project Leader, for further information and guidelines as to what material to bring.
Cork
The Cork Network group had a very successful session with Lucia Atencia on Monday 19th February. Lucia, an MLPSI visiting teacher, shared many ideas on a whole school approach as well as creative approaches that she has successfully used in the classroom in the context of teaching a modern language in Gaeltacht schools.Future evenings have now been planned with teachers sharing ideas on the following possible themes and lesson topics:
March 1st: General sharing of ideas
April 12th: ICT and the Modern Language
May 10th: Where I Live, Colours, Weather and Holidays
May 31st: Food snd Shops, Body and Clothes
Monday, June 14th, 7pm-9pm: workshop with Carole Nicoll
Author of Franςais Franςais, Italiano Italiano, Español Español and Deutsch Deutsch, Carol Nicoll, returns to Cork for a second year following the popularity of her workshop last year. The workshop will take place in Cork Education and Support Centre, The Rectory, Western Road, Cork. Drumcondra
A workshop on the use of the Interactive Whiteboard in the primary modern language classroom has been organised for Monday, January 25th (7.00 - 9.00) . All teachers are welcome to attend. The trainer, Catriona Phelan, will address both Promethean and Smart software. Teachers are invited to bring in their own or a school laptop if possible.

Blackrock
The next meeting of the network will be held in Blackrock Education Centre at 7 pm on December 14th, 2009.
Thank you to those teachers who attended the last meeting from 7.00 - 9.00 pm on Wednesday, April 22nd in Blackrock Education Centre. The evening was dedicated to training in the use of the Smartboard and was facilitated by Wendy O'Sullivan. Recent Events
Well done to the Limerick Regional Network Group who recently hosted a workshop delivered by Richard Talleron of Le Francais en Ecosse A very enjoyable day was had by all! Richard is an experienced MFL teacher trainer in Scotland as well as organising and delivering Comenius French immersion courses in France for primary teachers.
